The original dungeon crawler, Wizardry, has seen a number of transformations in its lifetime. Greatly modernized in its 6th iteration, the 7th and 8th titles saw a shift to 3D dungeon crawling and an innovative combat system beloved by players. This was followed by Wizardry Gaiden, a highly acclaimed spin-off which ultimately became a series in its own right.

Game ships with default scenario "The Price of Deception", In addition to the 5 main scenario quests, "Traveler's Property", "The Children of King Selene", "The Devoid of Apotheosis", "The Pickled Man of Galvan", "The Wheels of Flame", over 100 user generated adventures await you!

The game is based on old-fashioned RPG mechanics, but with many QoL improvements for a modern game. Many useful features have been added, including the ability to create user custom portraits. Custom portraits will go a long way in creating an adventure of your own liking.

A web service-style scenario editor allows you to add your own adventures into user scenarios.

IID and 59 Studio never permit the importation of past “Wizardry” into “Wizardry: The Five Ordeals”.
In the event that a significant reproduction of a past “Wizardry” work is found, the right of access to the editor of the user in question will be permanently suspended without notice. No redress will be provided in this case.
If we determine that a significant portion of the community has engaged in such behavior, we may terminate the English editor without prior notice, and may also temporarily or permanently suspend the scenario editor service itself.
This policy is a bit aggressive in this day and age, but it is an inevitable limitation of the relationship between the respective Wizardry rights holders. Please understand.
